CHAP. 215.—An ACT to prohibit the catching of fish with nets
in the Hawksbill creek, in Page county.
Approved February 17, 1890.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That. it shall be unlawful for any-person to fish in the
waters of the Hawksbill creek, in Page county, from “ Car-
ter’s Mill,” a point on said creek, to “ Luray Mills,” at the
junction of the two branches south of Luray, by the use
of drive-nets, dip-nets, set-nets, or in any other way or
manner, except angling with hook and line.
2. Any person guilty of violating the provisions of this
act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
conviction thereof shall be fined ten dollars for each
offense, and be imprisoned in jail until the fine is paid,
hut not exceeding thirty days, and forfeit all nets or other
contrivances employed by him in such violation, and one-
half of such fine shal] be paid by the officer collecting the
same to the informer or informers.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
