CHAP. 116.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 5 of an act
approved March 3, 1886, entitled an act to amend and re-enact
an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of Chase City, in
the couuty of Mecklenburg, Va., passed April 1st, 1878.

Approved January 31, 1890.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That section five of an act approved March third, eighteen
hundred and eighty-six, entitled an act to amend and
re-enact an act entitled an act to incorporate the town of
Chase City, in thecounty of Mecklenburg, Virginia, passed
April first, eighteen hundred and seventy-three, be amended
and re-enacted so as to read as follows:

85. The mayor -shall preside at all the meetings of the
council, and when they are equally divided shall give the
casting vote, and may appoint special police when in his
judgment it is best for the peace and good government of
said town.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
