CHAP. 212.—A BILL for the relief of John C Hall, treasurer of
Franklin county.
Approved March 4, 1890.
Whereas John C. Hall, treasurer of Franklin county,
caused a copy of the list of “delinquent” real estate in
the county of Franklin for the years eighteen hundred
and eighty-seven and eighteen hundred and eighty-eight
to be inserted in the Franklin Times (a newspaper pub-
lished in said county), pursuant to section six hundred
and thirty-seven of the code of Virginia, eighteen hun-
dred and eighty-seven; and whereas the state’s part of
the cost of this insertion amounted to forty-four dollars
for eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, and twenty dollars
for eighteen hundred and eighty-eight; and whereas the
auditor has paid to the said treasurer, on behalf of the
state on account of said cost of printing, the sum of five
dollars for eighteen hundred and eighty-seven, and five
dollars for eighteen hundred and eighty-eight, and declines
to pay the balance of said cost on the ground that there
is no authority in law for him to do so; and whereas this
leaves a sum of fifty-four dollars which the said treasurer
had to pay himself before he could get the publication of
the said list in the said newspaper; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia,
That the auditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby,
directed to issue his warrant in favor of John C. Hall, of
Franklin county, for the sum of fifty-four dollars.
2. This act shall be 14 force from its passage.
