CHAPTER 570

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered $8-
$0.1 authorizing the State Health Commissioner to submit a plan for
medical assistance pursuant to certain federal law.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
32-30.1 as follows:

§ 32-30.1. The State Health Commissioner, subject to the approval
of the State Board of Health, is authorized to prepare and submit to the
Secretary of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare a State
plan for medical assistance, which plan shall conform to the regulations
prescribed under Public Law 97 of the 89th Congress, approved July 30,
1965, entitled the Social Security Amendments of 1965, and any amend-
ments to such regulations or law.
