An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
27-5.8, relating to the authority of certain counties to apply for,
accept and | and use certain grants and other assistance from the Federal

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
27-5.3, as follows:

§ 27-5.8. Any county having a population of more than two thousand
persons per square mile may apply for, accept and utilize grants and
other assistance from the Federal Government pursuant to Section 117
of the United States Housing Act of 1949 (79 Stat. 451, 477), as amended,
for the purpose of carrying out programs of concentrated code enforce-
ment and related activities. ;

2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
