Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1 That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
38-963.1. as follows:

€ 58-963.1. The board of supervisors, or other governing body, of
Pvery county may, by ordinance, duly adopted, extend by one calendar
month the date on which any penalty shall be incurred under § 58-963 in
Ponnection with the payment of county levies, alter the amount of penalties
imposed during such period in connection with the payment of county levies
anc direct the treasurer of the county to postpone collection of local levies
under § 58-965 until such date in conformance therewith.

Nothing i in this section shall apply to any tax levied pursuant to § 173
f the Constitution of this State.
