CHAPTER 330

An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
64-72.1, relating to residence of certain persons.
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
64.72.1, as follows:

§ 64-72.1. Where any person has because of advanced age or im-
paired health either voluntarily or involuntarily become a patient in a
nursing home, a convalescent home, or a similar institution, the place of
legal residence of such person shall be presumed to be the same as it was
before he became such a patient; provided, however, that such presumption
may be rebutted by competent evidence.
