CHAPTER 283

An Act to amend and reenact § 54-260.7, of the Code of Virginia, relating
to the number of members on the Virginia Board of Funeral Direc-
tors and Embalmers and terms of members thereof.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:

1. That § 54-260.7 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:

§ 54-260.7. The Board shall consist of * seven members appointed
by the Governor for terms of five years from July first, one ap-
pointment to be made annually on or before June thirtieth as the terms
of the members respectively expire, and all vacancies shall be filled by the
Governor. No person shall be eligible to succeed himself unless he is
serving an unexpired term; appointments to the Board for terms begin-
ning July one, nineteen hundred sixty-six, shall be for the following
terms: one for a term of seven years; one for a term of six years; and
one for a term of five years. Subsequent appointments shall be for terms
of seven years except vacancies occurring during a term of office which
shall be filled for the unexpired term.
