An Act to amend and reenact § 56-888.20 of the Code of Virginia, relating
te eremptions from regulation and control of petroleum tank truck
carriers by the State Corporation Commission. 8 110

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
I That § 56-338.20 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted as
§ 56-838.20. The following are hereby declared to be exempt from
this chapter, and this chapter shall not be construed to apply to any of
(a) Vehicles owned and operated by the United States, District of
Columbia or any state, or any municipality or any other political subdivision
of this State.
(b) Persons who are not included within the definition of petroleum
truck carriers as defined by § 56-338.19 (f) of this chapter.
(c) Vehicles which are not included within the definition of a motor
tank truck as defined by § 56-338.19 (e) of this chapter.
(d) Transportation of petroleum products between any points within
this State in vehicles owned and/or operated by a person who is also the
bona fide legal owner of the petroleum products being then so transported.
(e) Transportation of petroleum products between any point in this
State and any point outside this State, or between any points wholly within
the limits of any city or town in this State, or for any lesser distance than
miles.
(f) Transportation of petroleum products in quantities not exceeding
twenty-five hundred gallons in any one vehicle.
(g) Occasional or infrequent transportation of petroleum products
for a greater distance than fifteen miles.
(kh) Transportation by a commission agent of petroleum products
sold by his principal from storage facilities to delivery points both within
the territory assigned by the principal to the agent, provided a description
of the territory, signed by the principal and the agent, 18 filed with the
Commission. It is further provided that such commission agent shall not be
required to comply with provisions of § 56-288.
