CHAPTER 99
An Act to authorize the Board of Visitors of Virginia Polytechnic Insti-
tute to sell and convey certain real estate, with the approval of the
Governor, and to provide for the disposition of the proceeds of such
sale.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. §1. Subject to the approval of the Governor in writing first
obtained, the Board of Visitors of Virginia Polytechnic Institute is hereby
empowered to sell and convey by deed, in form approved by the Attorney
General, whatever interest it may have in the following described real
property :
All that certain tract or parcel of land, with any improvements
thereon, lying and being in the town of Blacksburg, Blacksburg Magis-
terial District of Montgomery County, Virginia, and bounded and de-
scribed as follows:
Beginning at a fence post which is located on the Northeast corner of
the intersection of Wharton Street and Clay Street and thence along Clay
Street N 68° 20’ E 455.3 feet to a fence post; thence leaving Clay Street
on a joint line bordering Alease Robinson N 12° 44’ E 111.1 feet to an
iron pipe; thence on a line bordering Arthur B. Tucker S 65° 15’ W 537.6
feet to an iron pipe which is located on the Northeast side of Wharton
Street; thence with the Northeast edge of Wharton Street S 38° 28’ E 65.4
feet to a fence post which is the point of beginning, and containing
approximately 0.87 acres.
All moneys received from the sale of said property shall be paid
into the State treasury to the credit of Virginia Polytechnic Institute to
be expended in whole or part for the acquisition of additional land for
college purposes, subject to the approval of the Governor.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
