An Act to authorize the Board of Visitors of Virginia Polytechnic Institute
to sell and convey certain real estate, with the approval of the Gov-
ernor, and to provide for disposition of the proceeds of such sale.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. Subject to the approval of the Governor in writing first ob-
tained, the Board of Visitors of Virginia Polytechnic Institute is hereby
empowered to sell and convey by deed, in form approved by the Attorney
General, whatever interest it may have in the following described real
property:
All that certain tract or parcel of land containing 42.33 acres, situate
on Tom’s Creek, in the Blacksburg Magisterial District of Montgomery
County, Virginia, bounded and described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the center of State Route #624 at a corner
to the lands of the G. P. Wall estate and Paris Price, and running thence
with the line of the G. P. Wall estate S. 2° 36’ E. 637.0 feet to a point in
the center of State Route #652 (known as Kanode’s Mill Road); thence
with the center of said State Route #652 three courses, N. 31° 16’ E. 129.9
feet; N. 56° 46’ E. 66.2 feet; N. 82° 10’ E. 348.5 feet; thence a new line
N. 5° 83’ E. 211.0 feet to an iron pin; thence another new line N. 87° 09’
E. 559.3 feet to an iron pin; thence S. 75° 18’ E. 395.2 feet to an iron pin;
thence S. 0° 02’ E. 65.2 feet to a point in the center of State Route #602;
thence with the center of State Route #652 N. 86° 31’ E. 345.9 feet;
thence 3 new lines, N. 17° 08’ E. 341.9 feet to an iron pin; thence N. 85
15’ E. 480.4 feet to an iron pin; thence N. 81° 08’ E. 298.0 feet to an iron
pin in the line of the land of C. R. Brown; thence with the line of the C. R.
Brown land N. 30° 41’ W. 1032.3 feet to a point in the center of State
Route #624, a corner to Paris Smith and Fred Shelor; thence with the
center of State Route +624, the following courses and distances, S. 85°
31’ W. 179.8 feet; S. 47° 01’ W. 274.6 feet; S. 54° 52’ W. 437.2 feet;
S. 62° 23’ W. 304.0 feet; S. 70° 02’ W. 684.1 feet; thence S. 70° 29’ W.
496.8 feet to the place of BEGINNING, and containing 42.33 acres of
land, according to a survey made by Harry A. Wall, State Certified En-
gineer, July 10, 1951.
The real estate herein conveyed is the northern portion of a 52 acre
tract of land, more or less, that was conveyed to Margery E. Harman, by
G. V. Dickerson and others by deed dated the 12th day of December, 1929,
and of record in the Clerk’s Office of the Circuit Court of Montgomery
County, Virginia, at page 472 of Deed Book No. 101. The said Margery E.
Harman died intestate, seized and possessed of the said real estate, and
was survived by Thomas H. Harman, her husband, and the said Thomas M.
Harman, Margery H. Mize, and Ruth E. Harman, her only children and
heirs at law.
§ 2. All moneys received from the sale of said property shall be paid
into the State treasury.
