An Act to amend and reenact § 15-666.32:1 of the Code of Virginia, per-
taining to the issuance of district school bonds, and to validate certain
district school bonds and the proceedings for the issuance thereof.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That § 15-666.32:1 of the Code of Virginia be amended and reenacted
as follows:
§ 15-666.32:1. The governing body of any county, acting for and on
behaif of any school district, or acting for and on behalf of two or more
school districts jointly in such county, may provide for the issuance of
general obligation bonds of such school district or districts for school
purposes. The bonds shall not be issued unless a majority of the qualified
voters * in such district, or in each of such districts separately, shall approve
* the contracting of the debt * and the * issuing of the bonds. The bonds
of two or more school districts shall be issued as joint obligations of such
school districts. Any such school district, or any such school districts
jointly, shall constitute a unit. For the purposes of this section, each
magisterial district in each county shall constitute a school district, but
any such school district shall not include a town constituting a separate
school district. The issuance of such bonds shall be governed by the
provisions of this chapter *.
2. All bonds heretofore issued for school purposes by or on behalf of
any magisterial district or districts, or by or on behalf of any school
district or districts, are hereby ratified, validated and confirmed, and
all proceedings heretofore taken to authorize the issuance of bonds for
school purposes by or on behalf of any magisterial district or districts,
or by or on behalf of any school district or districts, are hereby ratified,
validated and confirmed, and all such bonds may be issued as bonds of
a school district or districts pursuant to the provisions of § 15-666.32:1
of the Code of Virginia as amended by this act.
3. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
