CHAPTER 344
An Act to amend the Code of Virginia by adding a section numbered
59-21.1, prohibiting certain wilful and malicious actions to injure
others in their reputation, trade, businesses or professions, and to
provide penalties for violations.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. That the Code of Virginia be amended by adding a section numbered
59-21.1 as follows:
§ 59-21.1. (a) Any two or more persons who shall combine, associate,
agree, mutually undertake or concert together for the purpose of wilfully
and maliciously injuring another in his reputation, trade, business or
profession by any means whatever, or for the purpose of maliciously
compelling another to do or perform any act against his will, or pre-
venting or hindering another from doing or performing any lawful act
shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and be punished by a fine of not more
than one thousand dollars or by confinement in jail not exceeding twelve
months, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
(b) This section shall not affect the right of employees lawfully to
organize and bargain concerning wages and conditions of employment.
