CHAPTER 106
An Act to prohibit the possession, sale, offering for sale or liberation of
live nutria in Virginia, and to provide a penalty for violations.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
1. § 1. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm, association or corpor-
ation to possess, sell, offer for sale, or liberate in this State any fur bearing
animal commonly referred to as nutria. Any person, firm, association or
corporation convicted of possessing, selling, offering for sale or liberating
any live nutria in this State shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and punish-
able as provided by law.
2. An emergency exists and this act is in force from its passage.
