Chap. 319.—An ACT making an Appropriation for Receiving and
Placing in position the Bronze Statue of Gen. Thomas J. Jackson,
tendered to the State by English Citizens.
Approved March 31, 1875.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly, That the sum
of ten thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be neces-
sary, be and the same is hereby appropriated to defray the
expenses of receiving and placing in position the bronze
statue of General Thomas J. Jackson, presented to the state
by citizens of England. Upon the certificate of the com-
missioners designated by the general assembly to superintend
the receiving and placing the said statue in position, the
auditor of public accounts is hereby authorized to issue his
warrant for the amount certified to be paid out of any money
in the treasury not otherwise appropriated. _
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
