Chap. 301.—An ACT requiring one of the Judges ‘of the Supreme
Court of Appeals to Reside at the Seat of Government, and Providing
Additional Compensation therefor.

Whereas, it is important 10 the public interest that at least
one of the jodges of the supreme court of appeals of Vir-
ginia should reside at the seat of government,
1. Be it therefore enacted by the general assembly of Vir-
ginia, That one of the judges of the supreme court of ap-
peals, to be selected by the said court by lot or otherwise,
shall reside at the seat of government, and that the judge
so selected shall receive the sum of one thousand dollars per
annum in addition to his salary as now fixed by law, to be
paid as other salaries are paid, the additional salary to com-
mence on the first day of January, eighteen hundred and
seventy-five.
