Chap. 997.—An ACT for the relief of John Zigler, a Confederate seldier, of
Patrick county.

Whereas John Zigler, of Patrick county, a disabled Confederate sol-
dier of Virginia, was a true and gallant soldier during the late war, was
loyal to Virginia, and is now suffering from disability by reason ‘of a

gunshot wound in the right ankle received while in the service of the
Confederate army, and on account of disease and old age which, to-
gether, have rendered him incapable of supporting himself by labor;
therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Patrick county shall examine into the condition of the
above-named John Zigler, a Confederate soldier, and should it be that
he was true and loyal to Virginia through the war, and that he is
needy and poor, and that he is now afflicted and so disabled and ineapac-
itated for manual labor, that he should receive aid from Virginia, and
if the county court of Patrick county should send a certificate of these
facts to the auditor of public accounts of Virginia, then the auditor
of public accounts is directed to place the name cf the said John Zigler
on the pension list and pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars on
and after the first day of April, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
