Chap. 992.—An ACT for the relief of Joseph E. Mozingo, a disabled Confed-
erate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Joseph E. Mozingo, a native and resident of Culpeper county
and a volunteer in the service of the Confederate states as a member of
company “G,” forty-ninth Virginia volunteers, was wounded in the
battle of Antietam or Sharpsburg in the left shoulder by a fragment
of shell, producing partial paralysis of the left arm, rendering it useless
in the performance of manual labor, and on account of which he has
been, and is now, drawing a pension of fifteen dollars per annum as is
provided by law; and
Whereas for the past two vears he has become wholly disabled from
manual labor of any kind, and can only walk by the assistance of two
crutches, and is wholly unable to support himself and is a subject of
charity; now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
auditor of public accounts is authorized and directed to place upon the
pension rolls of this state the name of Joseph KE. Mozingo, and to issue
to him warrants for an additional sum of fifteen dollars per annum,
in the same manner as is provided for Confederate soldiers who have
heen totally disabled from manual labor: provided, the said Joseph F.
Mozingo shall prove the foregoing facts before the county court of
Culpeper, and obtain a certificate thereof from the said court to the
auditor of public accounts.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
