Chap. 989.—An ACT for the relief of William Bowling, a disabled Confe
soldier, of Patrick county.

Whereas William W. Bowling, a disabled Confederate soldi
‘atrick county, was a true and gallant soldier during the late wa
oval to Virginia; and
Whereas he is now suffering from the following disabilities—t
VYounds in the left hand, mouth, and left breast, which cause
pain most of the time, and disables him for performing full manual
abor—
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Patrick shall examine into the condition of the above-
named William W. Bowling, a Confederate soldier, and should it be
that he was true and loyal to Virginia through the war, that he is
needy and poor, and that he is now so afflicted and incapacitated for
manual labor that he should receive aid from Virginia; and if the
county court of Patrick should send a certificate of the facts to the
auditor of public accounts of Virginia, then the auditor of public ac-
counts is directed to place the name of William W. Bowling on the
pension list, and pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars on and
after the first day of April, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
