Chap. 266.—An ACT to authorize the Raleigh Coal and Iron Compane
to build a Toll Bridge across Jackson’s River, at or near Clifton Forz-.

1, Beit enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, Ths:
the Raleigh coal and iron company be and it is hereby ac-
thorized and empowered to erect and build a toll bridge
across Jackson River, at or near Clifton Forge, in the county
of Alleghany, upon the lands of said company: provided.
that the same shall not interfere with the rights and privi-
ees of the James river and Kanawha company.
. Be it further enacted, That the said Raleigh coal and
Iron company, its successors and assigns, shall be authorize!
to charge tolls for passing over said bridge, not exceeding
the following rates, to-wit: For a foot passenger, five cents:
for a horse or mule, five cents; for wheel vehicles, five cents
per wheel, and five cents for cach animal drawing the same.

3. Be it further enacted, That the said bridge shall be sub-
jected to all laws now in force, or which may be hereafter
enacted, governing and regulating such structures.
4. This act shall be in torce from its passage.
