Chap. 630.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 2 of an act entitled an
act to incorporate the Petersburg and Claremont terminal railroad and
improvement company and to define its powers, approved February, 1900,
authorizing an extension of its line of railroad.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That sectior
two of an act entitled an act to incorporate the Petersburg and Clare-
mont terminal railroad and improvement company and to define its
powers, approved February, nineteen hundred, be amended and re.
enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 2. Said company is hereby authorized and empowered to locate
construct, equip, maintain, and operate a railroad, with all necessary
sidings and branches, employing steam, electricity, or other motive
power, from some suitable point in or near the city of Petersburg
Virginia, to the channel bank of James river at or near the town o:
Claremont, in Surry county, Virginia, by such route as it may deen
most advantageous and expedient, and shall have the right to cross an’
navigable stream on its route: provided, it so builds its bridges, o:
has sufficient draws in them as not to impede the navigation thereo
by such vessels as ply thereon.
And the said company is further authorized and empowered, at th.
determination of a majority of its stockholders at any time given, t
extend its line of railroad through the counties of Dinwiddie, Chester
field, and Amelia, or by such other routes as may be found to be mos
practicable or expedient to a point to be determined upon on the westert
border line of this state.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
