Chap. 617.—An ACT to change the boundary lines between Bland and Giles
counties, on the waters of Dry Fork, of Laurel Fork, of Wolf creek.
Approved March 6, 1900.
Whereas by order of the county courts of Giles und Bland counties,
made at the April term thereof, eighteen hundred and ninety-two, pur-
suant to orders providing thereto, appointing commissioners for the
purpose, the following was established as the true boundary line between
the counties of Bland and Giles, from a point on the top of Wolf creek
mountain across the waters of Wolf creek mill branch and Dry Fork
creek to the top of East river mountain on the West Virginia lne—
namely: Beginning at two white oaks on top of Wolf creck mountain,
twenty-six poles east of Fletcher’s gap; thence north forty-seven degrees,
west one thousand three hundred and fifty-four poles, crossing Wolf
creek at three hundred and ninety-four poles, passing a sugar tree
on the north bank thereof, marked for a corner dividing the lands
of G. P. French from that of Jackson Blankenship, and crossing Chest-
nut mountain at seven hundred and fourteen poles, crossing Mill branch
at seven hundred and ninety-four poles, crossing Buck Horn mountain
at eight hundred and seventy-four poles, passing the house of Thomas
Shawalton at one thousand and fifty-four poles, passing six poles to the
west thereof, crossing Dry Fork at one thousand and seventy-four poles
to two hickories on top of East river mountain, thirty-eight poles east
of Thomas gap; and
Whereas that portion of said line between the top of Buck Horn
mountain and the top of Kast river mountain should be changed, so as
to put all the lands drained by the waters of Dry Fork creek into Bland
county; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
true boundary lines between the counties of Bland and Giles, between
the said corner of Wolf creek mountain and the said corner on top of
East river mountain, and the same is established as follows:
Beginning on the top of Wolf creek mountain at two white oaks
twenty-six poles east of Iletcher’s gap; thence north forty-seven degrees,
west eight hundred and seventy-four poles, crossing Wolf creek at three
hundred and ninety-four poles, passing a sugar tree on the north bank

thereof, marked for a corner dividing the lands of G. P. French from
that of Jackson Blankenship, crossing Chestnut mountain at seven hun-
dred and fourteen poles, crossing Mill branch at seven hundred and
ninety-four poles; thence to the top of Buck Horn mountain; thence
along the top of Buck Horn mountain in an eastern direction to the
dividing ridge between the waters of Dry Fork and the waters of a
branch that flows into Wolf creek near Talmash, in Giles county; thence
along said dividing ridge a north course to the top of East river moun-
tain; thence along the top of said East river mountain a west course
to two hickories, thirty-eight poles east of Thomas gap, so as to embrace
all the lands drained by the waters of Dry Fork creek, within the county
of Bland.
2. The provisions of this act shall be transcribed by the clerk of
the county courts of Bland and Giles on the records in their respective
offices.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
