Chap. 601.—An ACT to authorize Doctor H. W. M. Washington and his wife
to erect and maintain a wharf on, or in front of, her land, on North river,
in Mathews county.

Approved March 6, 1900.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That Dr. IH.
W. M. Washington and his present wife, of Mathews county, Virginia,
be, and they are hereby, authorized and permitted to erect and maintain
a wharf on, or in front of, her land lving on North river in said county,
at such point thereon as they may select, and the said wharf may be so
constructed as to length and width as to afford convenient landing for
such vessels and steamboats as navigate said river: provided, that said
wharf shall not obstruct. the free navigation of said river: and provided
further, that this act shall be subject: to amendment, modification, or
repeal at the pleasure of the general assembly.

2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
