Chap. 590.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 1002, code of Virginia of
1887, in relation to roads abandoned by turnpike companies; how kept
in order, &c.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That section
one thousand and two of the code of Virginia be amended and re-
enacted so as to read as follows:
§ 1002. How abandoned turnpikes kept in order— Whenever anv
turnpike company shall have abandoned its road, or a part thereof.
the county court of the county in which such road hes may, in its dis-
cretion, take charge of the same, and cause it to be worked and kept in
good order in the same manner as the public roads in such county.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
