Chap. 502.—An ACT to allow W. S. Embrey to build a wharf and pier in
James river near Scotland, in Surry county, Virginia.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That W. S.
Embrey be, and he is hereby, authorized to erect a wharf and pier in the
James river near Scotland, Surry county, Virginia, in front of his own
Jand: provided, the same will not interfere with navigation in said
river, and be subject to all the laws of the state governing wharves and
piers erected in the waters of the commonwealth: and provided further,
that this privilege granted shall at all times be under the control of
the general assembly, and amended or repealed as may be deemed proper.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
