Chap. 433.—An ACT to incorporate the sons and daughters of liberty it
Westmoreland county, Virginia.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That R. B
Page, Henry Brown, George Kendall, J. W. Bankett, and Henderso:
Smith, and such other persons as are now and may hereafter becom
members of this society, hereby created, and their successors, be, an
the same are hereby, constituted a body corporate under the name an
style of the sons and daughters of liberty of Westmoreland county, Vit
ginia, with all the rights, powers, and privileges, and subject to th
restrictions and liabilities of like corporations created by the laws o
this state. The object of this society shall be to aid, assist, and car
for the sick and disabled, and to provide for the burial of its member:
and to help their families as far as they may deem advisable. Said societ
shall have power to own real estate not exceeding one thousand dollar
in value; to raise and accumulate a fund out of which its expenses an
liabilities may be promptly paid; to assess its members their prope
share of its burdens; to enforce fines for non-payment of same; to su
and be sued, and to do all such other things as may be necessary or use

The principal lodge and place of business shall be at Oak Grove
with authority to establish subordinate lodges throughout the county o
