Chap. 390.—An ACT allowing the city of Norfolk to increase the salary of the
judge of the court of law and chancery of said city, and to still further in-
crease the salary of the judge of the corporation court of said city.
In effect February 17, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the coun.
-ils of the city of Norfolk shall have the right to increase the salary o:
the judge of the court of law and chancery of the said city to an amoun
not to exceed five hundred dollars per annum, to be paid out of the
treasury of said city; and that the councils of said city shall have, ir
addition to the authority given them by section one hundred and eighty
six, chapter fourteen of the code of Virginia to increase the salary of th
judge of the corporation court of said city one thousand dollars pe
annum to be paid out of the treasury of the said city, the right to stil
further increase the salary of the s said judge not to exceed five hundrec
dollars per annum, to be paid out of the treasury of said city.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage,
