Chap. 360.—An ACT to allow the directors of the Ohio and Big Sandy coal
company to change the name of said company.
Approved February 15, 1900.
Whereas by an act approved February twenty-third, eighteen hun-
dred and ninety, the Ohio and Big Sandy coal company was incorporated
by the general assembly of Virginia, which act of incorporation was
amended by an act approved February twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred
and ninety-two; and
Whereas it may be desired to change the name of said company; now,
therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the di-
rectors of the Ohio and Big Sandy coal company may, at any meeting,
general or special, called for that purpose, change the said name of Ohio
and Big Sandy coal company to such name as the said directors may
think fit: provided, however, that as soon as the said directors shall
change the name of the said Ohio and Big Sandy coal company, a notice
of the change of name shall be published for at least one week in some
newspaper pu ublished in the city of Charlottesville, Virginia, where the
principal office of said’ company is situated, and notice shall be given
of said change of name by a circular addressed to each stockholder of
said company: provided, however, that nothing in this act shall be so
construed as to in any way change or alter the liability of the said Ohio
and Big Sandy coal company for any obligation or obligations herein-
before entered into by it; and when said name, so changed and adopted
by the board of directors of the said company, shall have been published,
and the notice given as aforesaid, the said Ohio and Big Sandy coal
company shall thereafter be known by the said new name, and shall in
the said new name have all the rights, privileges, and immunities, and
be charged with the same duties and liabilities conferred or imposed
upon it by the said acts of February twenty-third, eighteen hundred
and ninety, and February twenty-ninth, eighteen hundred and ninety-
two.
2. This act shall be enforced from its passage.
