Chap. 337.—An ACT to allow J. H. Whealton and E. B. Blackman to erect
a breakwater on lower or eastern side of Whealton wharf, Rappahannock
river. '

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That J. H.
Whealton and E. B. Blackman be, and are hereby, authorized to erect
a breakwater in the Rappahannock river at Whealton wharf, on the
lower or eastern side thereof, extending down the river three hundred
feet and running inshore three hundred or more feet, and thence back
to bridgeway of said wharf; the same to serve as a harbor for small
boats and as a protection to said wharf: provided, the same will not
interfere with navigation in said river, and be subject to all the laws
of the state governing wharves and piers erected in the waters of the
commonwealth: and provided further, that this privilege granted shall
at all times be under the control of the general assembly, and amended
or repealed as may be deemed proper.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
