Chap. 326.—An ACT to authorize and permit M. A. Finch to erect wharves
or piers, and to construct bulkheads in the James river along the water
fronts of her lands owned by her in the city of Newport News, Virginia.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That M. A.
inch is hereby authorized and permitted to erect wharves or piers, and
» construct bulkheads in the James river along and opposite to the
ater fronts of the lands owned by M. A. Finch in the city of Newport
fews, as the corporate limits are now, or may hereafter be, laid off
r defined: provided, however, that navigation be not obstructed nor any
ght of property now vested be impaired thereby.
2. That the said M. A. Finch, her successors and assigns, shall have
the right to charge and receive reasonable fees, tolls, and wharfage
as compensation for the use of said wharves, piers, and bulkheads.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
