Chap. 298.—An ACT to provide a special fence law for the county of Lee,
state of Virginia.
Approved February 39, 1900.
Whereas the citizens of the county of Lee desire protection of them-
selves and property, a special fence law for said county, with penalties
and liabilities affixed as described in section two thousand and forty-two
of the code of Virginia, which shall be used in full force and apply to
said special fence law for Lee county,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That four wires,
boards or rails placed upon posts or other substantial substances made
substantial and strong so horses, mules, and cattle cannot push down;
with the top wire, board or rail placed four and one-half feet from the
ground, the second wire, board or rail one foot and six inches below the
top, with the other lines one foot apart, shall be, and is hereby, a lawful
fence for Lee county, Virginia, with the same liabilities for and against
all stock as mentioned in section two thousand and forty-two of the code
of Virginia for the breaching thereof.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
