Chap. 297.—An ACT for the relief of W. H. Purkins, treasurer of Middlesex
county, to give him and his former deputies powers of levy and distress to
collect certain uncollected tax tickets now in their possession, and for
which they have accounted to the proper fiscal agents.

Whereas W. H. Purkins, treasurer of Middlesex county, has in his
hands various tax tickets for which he has accounted to the state and
county; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the said
W. HW. Purkins, treasurer as aforesaid, and his former deputies, shall
have the same powers of levy and distress as is now possessed by treas-
urers, under the revenue laws, until December fifteenth, nineteen hun-
dred and one, to collect said uncollected tax tickets now in their hands
for the years eighteen hundred and ninety-four, ninety-five, ninety-six,
and ninety-seven, for which he has accounted to the proper fiscal agents
of the state and county, and which have not been returned delinquent
or insolvent.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
