Chap. 278.—An ACT to amend and re-enact section 3179 of the code of Vir-
ginia, in reference to clerks’ offices.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That ‘section
three thousand one hundred and sev entv-nine of the ‘code of Virginia be
amended and re-enacted so as to read as follows:
$3179. Clerks’ offices to be kept open on certain davs; records, and
<o forth, open to inspection; copies authorized.—The clerk’s office of
everv court shall be kept open every day, except Sunday, during con-
venient hours for the transaction of business. The records and papers
of every court shall be open to the inspection of any person, and the
clerk shall, when required, furnish copies thereof, except in cases where
