Chap. 206.—An ACT to compensate school trustees, other than clerks of dis-
trict school boards, in Sussex and Greenesville counties, and also to com-
pensate the clerk and members of the county sehool board.
In effect January 30, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That from the
school term ending July thirty-first, nineteen hundred, and annually
thereafter, the clerks of the several district school boards in the counties
of Sussex and Greenesville, shall certify to the superintendent of public
schools of said counties, at the annual meeting in August of each year,
the attendance of the members, other than the said clerks themselves,
at the called meetings and at the regular monthly meetings of the several
district school boards, which certificates, if found correct, and approved
by the county superintendent of schools, shall entitle the trustees to one
dollar and fifty cents each for such attendance at said called meetings
and regular meetings, payable out of the district school fund upon a
warrant issued by the clerk of the district school board and the county
superintendent of schools: provided, however, that no trustee as afore-
said shall receive more than twelve dollars in any one year for such public
school services.
2. That the county school board of said counties may, in its discretion,
compensate school trustees at the rate of two dollars per day for actual
attendance on meetings of the county school boards; and the clerk of the
said board may, in its discretion, be compensated at the rate of three
dollars per day for actual attendance and all services as clerk of the
county school board.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
