Chap. 179.—An ACT requiring the district school boards of Western Branch,
Tanners Creek, and Washington districts to hold monthly meetings, and
to receive compensation for the same.
In effect January 25, 1900.
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the district
hoard of school trustees of Western Branch district, Tanners Creek dis-
trict, and Washington district, in Norfolk county, Virginia, shall hold reg-
ular monthly meetings, and such additional meetings as the work of the
board may require, at such times and places in their respective districts as
may be determined by a majority of the trustees of the respective districts
for the purpose of transacting all business pertaining to the duties of said
board.
2. The school trustees of said district boards shall receive compen-
sation at the rate of two dollars per day for actual attendance on meet-
ines of the district school boards, payable from the district funds: pro-
vided, however, that no trustee, as aforesaid, other than clerks, shall
receive more than thirty dollars in any one year for services rendered
on said district school board.
3. This act shall be in force from its passage.
