Chap. 1475.—An ACT for the relief of Nannie R. McGregor, of Pittsylvania
county, widow of William H. McGregor, a Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas William H. McGregor, of Pittsylvania county, was a true
and loval volunteer soldier of Virginia, in the military service of the
Confederate states, belonging to Carter’s company, thirty-eighth Vir-
cinia regiment, was wounded at the second battle of Manassas, and re-
mained faithful to the state throughout the war; and
Whereas the said William Hl. MeGregor died several years ago, leaving
a widow, Nannie R. MeGregor, who remains unmarried; and
Whereas the said Nannie R. MeGregor has no property of any de-
scription, is very old, and is in destitute circumstances; now, therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon
proof of the foregoing facts before the county court of Pittsylvania
county, and the certifying of the same to the auditor of public accounts,
said auditor shall place the name of the said Nannie R. McGregor
upon the pension roll, and there shall be paid to her annually out of
the treasury, upon the warrant of said auditor, the sum of fifteen
dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
