Chap. 1464.—An ACT for the relief of Robert A. Cheatham, a disabled Confed-
erate soldier.

Whereas Robert A. Cheatham, a disabled Confederate soldier, was a
true and gallant soldier during the late war; and
Whereas he is suffering from a wound through the lung, received
while in the discharge of his duty; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Appomattox shall examine into the condition of the
above-named Robert A. Cheatham, and should it prove that he was true
and loyal to Virginia through the war, and that he is now incapacitated
for manual labor, that he is needy and should receive aid from Virginia,
and if the county court of Appomattox should send a certificate of the
facts to the auditor of public accounts of Virginia, then the auditor of
public accounts is directed to place the name of Robert A. Cheatham on
the pension list and pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
