Chap. 1463.—An ACT for the relief of Smith P. Tweedy, a Confederate soldier.

Whereas Smith P. Tweedy was a true and gallant Confederate soldier
during the late civil war, and was loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas he is now disabled from the performance of manual labor,
and without adequate means for his support; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Campbell county shall examine into the condition of
the said Smith P. Tweedy, and should it be found that he was true
and loyal to Virginia throughout the civil war, and that he is now
disabled from the performance of manual labor, and that he is without
adequate means for his support, the said court shall certify said facts
to the auditor of public accounts of Virginia, and thereupon the said
auditor is directed to place the name of the said Smith P. Tweedy on
the pension list, and to pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars
on and after the first day of April, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
