Chap. 1459.—An ACT for the relief of Wesley Diggs, a disabled Confederate
, soldier.

Whereas Wesley Diggs, of Mathews county, was a true and faithful
Confederate soldier; was loyal to Virginia in the war between the states;
is now disabled to do manual labor because of age, disease, and infirmitv;
is poor, and in needy circumstances, and is deserving of aid from Vir-
ginia; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Mathews county shall inquire into the condition of the
said Wesley Diggs, and it appear that the facts are as hereinbefore
alleged, and that he is deserving of aid from Virginia; and if said
court shall certify the facts to the auditor of public accounts, there-
upon said auditor is hereby authorized and directed to place the name
of said Wesley Diggs, as so certified, on the pension list, and to pay
him annually the sum of fifteen dollars on and after the first day of
April, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
