Chap. 1455.—An ACT for the relief of L. T. Howell.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas L. T. Howell, of the county of Floyd, was a Confederate
soldier in the late war, and while in the discharge of his duty was
wounded at the battle of Shepherdstown in his left knee joint, the ball
being now lodged there; and
Whereas this wound seriously impairs the ability to support himself
by manual labor, and gives him at times great pain and anguish, so
that his doctor declares that it is equal to the loss of a limb; and
Whereas he is poor and needy; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon
inquiry by the county court of Flovd county, and a certificate from the
said court setting forth that the above facts are established by satis-
factory evidence, the auditor of public accounts of Virginia be, and he
hereby is, directed to list the said Howell to receive a pension of fifteen
dollars a year.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
