Chap. 1449.—An ACT for the relief of James McClanahan, and other Confed-
erate soldiers.

Whereas James McClanahan, Abraham Belcher, Elias Stiltner, George
McClanahan, and R. 'T. Hackney, were true and gallant Confederate
soldiers during the war between the states, and are now suffering from
disease, unable to perform manual labor, poor and needy; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That upon a
certificate from the county court of Buchanan county that the facts
recited in the preamble are true, the auditor of public accounts is direct-
ed to place the names of James McClanahan, Abraham Belcher, Elias
Stiltner, George McClanahan, and R. T. Hackney, or such of them as
furnish the certificate aforesaid, upon the pension list, and pay each of
them annually the sum of fifteen dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
