Chap. 143.—An ACT to authorize the board of supervisors of Norfolk county
to acquire by purchase or condemnation land in the city of Portsmouth
to be used for the clerk’s office of Norfolk county court.

1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the board
of supervisors of Norfolk county be, and it is hereby, authorized to
acquire by purchase or by condemnation, any land in the city of Ports-
mouth, lying adjacent to the court-house lot in said city, not exceeding
forty-five fect by one hundred and thirteen feet, for the purpose of en-
larging the present clerk’s office of the county court of Norfolk county,
or of erecting thereon a new clerk’s office of said court.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
