Chap. 1383.—An ACT to pension Mrs. Margaret E. Jennings, widow of a
Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas J. J. Jennings was a loyal, brave, and faithful soldier in
Bruce's battery, Confederate states army, in the service of the state
of Virginia, and contracted consumption in service which caused his
death soon after the war; and
Whereas his widow, Mistress Margaret I. Jennings, is very old and
destitute; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That on proof
of the alleged facts before the county court of Charlotte, the saine
shall be certified to the auditor of public accounts, who shall place
the name of Mistress Margaret E. Jennings on the pension rolls, as
entitled to pension of fifteen dollars as widow of a Confederate soldier
who died from disease contracted in service.
2. This act shall be in force from April first, nineteen hundred.
