Chap. 1373.—An ACT for the relief of A. F. Frazier, a Confederate soldier, of
Washington county.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas A. F. Frazier, a Confederate soldier of Washington county,
Virginia, was a member of sixty-third Virginia regiment, company A,
was a true and gallant soldier during the late war, was loyal to Vir-
ginia; and has lived in Virginia ever since the war, never having left
the state; and
Whereas he was wounded twice in the battle of Chickamauga, and is
now totally blind, and by reason of said blindness is incapacitated for
manual labor; and
Whereas the said A.. F. Frazier is now old and destitute, and unable
to support himself; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That if the
county court of Washington county shall examine into the condition
of the said A. F. Frazier, a Confederate soldier, and should it be that he
was true and loyal to Virginia during the war, and that he is now
afflicted and helpless, and incapacitated for manual labor by reasor
of his blindness, and that he is needy and poor, and should receive aic
from Virginia, and if the county court of Washington county shal!
send a certificate of the facts to the auditor of public accounts of Vir.
ginia, then the auditor of public accounts shall place the name of A
F. Frazier upon the pension list, and he is hereby directed to draw his
warrant on the treasurer for the sum of fifteen dollars annually, payable
semi-annually, for the benefit of the said A. F. Frazier.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
