Chap. 1355.—An ACT for the relief of George W. Funkhouser.

Whereas George W. Funkhouser, a Confederate soldier of compan
K, thirty-third Virginia regiment, was a true and gallant soldier durin
the late war; and
Whereas he was wounded in the battle at Spotsylvania courthous
by a piece of shell striking him in the right hip, which at times rer
dered him entirely unable to use his leg, and cannot perform manu:
labor on account of his wound; and
Whereas the said George W. Funkhouser is now fifty-seven years ¢
age and cannot support himself; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia. That if th
county court of Shenandoah shall examine into the condition of tt
said George W. Funkhouser, and should it be that he was a true an
loval soldier during the war, and was wounded as described herein, an
is incapacitated for manual labor, and is needv and should receive ai
under the pension laws of Virginia. then the auditor of public accoun
shall place the name of George W. Funkhouser upon ¢he list. an
shall pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars. ,
