Chap. 1354.—An ACT for the relief of Mattie Gordon, widow of Dallas P.
Gordon, a Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas Mattie Gordon, the widow of Dallas P. Gordon, a membe:
of company H, fourth Virginia regiment, was a true and gallant soldie:
during the war; was loyal to Virginia; and
Whereas the said Mattie L. Gordon is in need of aid; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That th:
county court of Fauquier county shall examine into the condition of th
said Mattie Gordon, widow of Dallas P. Gordon, and should it be tha
the said Dallas P. Gordon was a Confederate soldier, and should i
be that he was true and loyal to Virginia, and that the said Matti
L. Gordon is needy and poor and should receive aid from Virginia
and if the county court of Fauquier should send in a certificate of th
facts to the auditor of public accounts of Virginia, then the audito
of public accounts is directed to place the name of Mattie Gordon 01
the pension list, and pay her annually fifteen dollars, on and afte
April first, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
