Chap. 1321.—An ACT for the relief of Nancy A. Johnson, widow of a Confed-
erate soldier.

Whereas Joseph Madison Johnson was a volunteer in company F,
forty-fifth Virgima regiment of infantry, in the great war between the
states, and from hard exposure while doing faithful service ag a soldier,
ontracted disease from which he never recovered, but from which
e died a few months after the overthrow of the southern Confederacy
1 eighteen hundred and sixty-five; and
Whereas his widow, Nancy A. Johnson, is now sixty-nine years of
ge, and is dependent upon her own labor and exertions for a living;
nerefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
uditor of public accounts be, and he is hereby, directed to place the
ame of Nancy A. Johnson on the pension list as the widow of a
eceased Confederate soldier, and that he shall annually hereafter pay
er fifteen dollars.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
