Chap. 1320.—An ACT for the relief of James P. Kennon, a Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas James P. Kennon, a disabled Confederate soldier of Vir-
ginia, was a true and gallant soldicr during the late war; was loval to
Virginia; and
Whereas he is now suffering from the following disabilities—to wit:
Is incapacitated for manual labor by reason of his services in the
late war, is old and in feeble health, and has no means of support;
therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assemblv of Virginia, That the
county court of Goochland county shall examine into the condition of
the above-named James P. Kennon, a Confederate soldier, and should
it he that he was true and loyal to Virginia through the war, and that
he is now incapacitated for manual labor bv reason of his services
in the late war, is old and in feeble health, and has no means of support:
is needy and poor, and should receive aid from Virginia, and if the
county court of Goochland county should send a certificate of the
facts to the auditor of public accounts of Virginia, then the auditor
of public accounts is directed to place the name of James P. Kennon
on the pension list, and pay him annually the sum of fifteen dollars,
on and after the first day of April, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
