Chap. 1271.—An ACT for the relief of David J. Marr, of Campbell county, a
disabled Confederate soldier.
Approved March 7, 1900.
Whereas David J. Marr, of Campbell county, a disabled Confederate
soldier of company K, fifty-ninth Virginia regiment, infantry, was a
true and gallant soldier during the late war, and was loyal to Virginia;
and
Whereas he is now suffering from the following disabilities—to-wit:
Injuries resulting from wounds received while serving in the Confede-
rate army in said company and regiment; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the
county court of Campbell county shall examine into the condition of
the above-named David J. Marr, and should it be found that he was
true and loyal to Virginia through the war, and that he is now afflicted
and incapacitated for manual labor from wounds received while in the
service in the Confederate army, that he is needy and poor and should
receive aid from Virginia; and if the county court of Campbell count»
should send a certificate of the facts to the auditor of public accounts
of Virginia, then the said auditor is directed to place the name of said
David J. Marr on the pension list and pay him annually the sum of
fifteen dollars, on and after the first day of April, nineteen hundred.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
