Chap. 1260.—An ACT for the relief of Levi Jordan Lester, a Confederate
soldier.

Whereas Levi Jordan Lester was a true and gallant Confederate
soldier of Virginia, and served in the Confederate army under Captain
John G, Buchanan, in company D, a regiment commanded by Colone!
Robert Preston; and
Whereas he is now over seventy years old and in bad health, without
anv means Of support, and 1s dependent on the charities of his com-
munity; therefore,
1. Be it enacted by the general assembly of Virginia, That the auditor
of public accounts is hereby directed to place the name of Levi Jordan
Lester on the pension list, and pay him annually the sum of fifteen
dollars, on and after the first day of April, nineteen hundred, if the
above facts are proved before the county court of Washington, and a
certificate thereof sent to the auditor of public accounts.
2. This act shall be in force from its passage.
